[Testimony of SFTLV] Charles SALAMÉ

The French education system has given me the chance to validate my experience. It is a personal challenge launched and accomplished to achieve what life circumstances have not allowed me to achieve in a timely manner since my early youth.

My professional experience in the field of broadcasting, television, journalism, as well as my education and training have given me a lot of experience and appreciation. I have had several opportunities to move to higher positions. But the lack of a master's degree or higher has deprived me of several exceptional opportunities.

I knew that if my work experience was not integrated and crowned with a degree, it would not stand the test of time or the demands of the job.

At the University of Avignon, I found all the information and details I needed to undertake a process of validation of my acquired experience.

From the first contact with the VAE department at the University of Avignon, to the obtaining of the Master's degree, the follow-up, the accompaniment, the advice, the rapidity of the answers and the correspondence, as well as the reactivity, the encouragement, the seriousness, all these elements contributed to the achievement of the great challenge of returning to studies, research, and documentation, with the intention of succeeding and obtaining a university degree, the "Master".

Once completed, the validation of my prior learning touched the intellectual and social dimensions of my life. It was the link that connected my work experience to a better professional future.

This validation of my prior learning has given my life a sense of evolution and change. It has increased my sense of personal satisfaction and security.

Now, the validation of my professional experience has become an additional springboard for another training and research project, as I still hope to reach a final objective which is the preparation of a doctoral thesis related to my professional experience. The title of this thesis will be: "The mistake of televising radio and radiophonising television".
