Biography

Isabelle Brianso is a teacher-researcher at the University of Avignon and is attached to the Norbert Elias Centre (UMR 8562). She was an ATER & ANR post-doc (Université Paris Saclay / Centre d'Histoire Culturelle des Sociétés Contemporaines) and then, an individual grant for research excellence Marie Curie (IEF, FP7) at the Autonomous University of Barcelona / Jean Monnet Chair (Spain) and research fellow at the National Museum of Natural History in Paris (UMR 208 Local heritage and governance). After her studies in economics (Bi-degree, Bachelor's degree, Master's degree) at the University of Paris X-Nanterre, she specialised in cultural policies at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Aix-en-Provence, then in museology at the Università degli Studi di Roma Tre (Master's degree) under the direction of Professor Emma Nardi. She also spent six months in Oxford (Cambridge Exams), in Italy (Master) and in Cambodia (European Doctorate) and carried out expert missions in Gabon (National Museum of Libreville), in Sudan and in Kosovo. She has participated in numerous European projects (FP6, FP7) in Latin America (Argentina, Mexico, Brazil), Europe (ERASMUS + DECRA) and Morocco (H2020-Geopark). Her doctoral work (71st section CNU, European doctorate defended in French and Spanish with the congratulations of the jury) concerned the study of the process of patrimonialisation of the temples of Angkor (Cambodia) by UNESCO. Research work that was selected for the scientific prize (2010) Cultural Policy Research Award funded by the European Cultural Foundation and the Riksbankens Jubileumsfond.
