Protection of personal data

Avignon University uses a large number of personal data processing operations (DCP) to carry out the various missions of a public scientific, cultural and professional establishment (EPSCP).
Avignon Université is responsible for the processing of data relating to teaching, research and the dissemination of knowledge, and in a few rare cases is a sub-contractor of personal data.

The texts applicable to the protection of personal data are :

  • Law no. 78-17 of 6 January 1978, known as the "Information Technology and Civil Liberties" Law, amended by the Law of 20 June 2018
  • European Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of personal data, known as the "GDPR".

Avignon Université has appointed a Data Protection Officer and informed the CNIL, which has registered this appointment under number DPO-55721.

The delegate is available to assist staff and in some cases students who are considering setting up DCP processing.
It ensures that the processing carried out complies with legislation, and if not, helps to bring it into line.
It responds to people exercising the rights conferred by the RGPD.
