Research projects
The European TRAnet project
Avignon University is coordinating the research project (Trans)National European Theatre: audiovisual tools and simultaneous interpreting for the internationalisation of theatre production and consumption. The project, funded by Europe Creative, is coordinated by Paola Ranzini, Professor of Theatre Studies. It will run for three years and its aim is to develop new strategies for the internationalisation of theatre and live performance through innovative tools (video and streaming, surtitling, etc.) that can facilitate access and participation by audiences of different languages and cultures. The project involves research into multilingual theatre and hybrid methods of creation and performance. The partner countries are France, Italy and Germany. Researchers from the Universities of Avignon and IULM (Milan) are working directly with artists, and in particular with PACTA DEI TEATRI (Milan) and Multicultural City of Berlin. The project also sees the involvement of Avignon's Théâtre Au Chapeau Rouge and students from the Master Théâtre programme.
The BEF-CERRADO project, winner of the AAPG 2023 (ANR)
The BEF-CERRADO project, coordinated by Élise Buisson (IMBE) in France and Rafael Silva Oleira in Brazil, is the winner of the AAPG 2023 funding instrument: Collaborative Research Project - International (PRCI)".

the doctoral consultant mission
The Doctorat Conseil scheme is an initiative that encourages collaboration between doctoral students and the professional world.
Over a 3-year period, PhD students can spend up to 32 days a year on joint projects with companies, giving them the opportunity to benefit from the expertise of a young researcher.
The benefits are many: for the company, affordable expertise eligible for the CIR; for the doctoral student, immersion in the business world and promotion of their skills; for the university, the opportunity to establish partnerships and promote its research potential.
This regulated scheme is open to all doctoral students, with the exception of CIFRE grant holders. A wide range of tasks are possible, from technology watch to disseminating scientific and technical information.
Adrien Deschampsa doctoral student in applied economics at the JPEGshares his experience of this scheme:
"My assignment at the State Purchasing Department (DAE, Ministry of the Economy) is part of my doctoral work on studying the impact of sustainable public procurement policies. Having spent the last few months gathering and enriching open public procurement data, I now have a database that will enable me to assess the impact on SMEs of the introduction of environmental clauses and criteria in government procurement contracts. The government has set a number of objectives for its purchasing policies, including accessibility for SMEs and sustainable development. The aim is to find out whether these objectives conflict by carrying out an empirical evaluation".
