The application for withdrawal of a diploma must be made to the school department.
This request must be accompanied by the receipt of deposit of the thesis delivered to the doctoral student by the ED if the manuscript (after possible corrections) was indeed transmitted to him.

Three months after the defence, the thesis manuscript is sent to the BU for electronic distribution of the thesis on the STAR application of ABES (Agence Bibliographique de l'Enseignement Supérieur, responsible for the deposit, conservation and distribution of theses).

A period of restricted circulation can be requested (4 years maximum). The thesis will then only be available for consultation at the BU during this period.

Objective: To create a network that will establish a long-term link between former doctoral students, doctoral schools and current doctoral students.

The first Avignon University Doctoral Ceremony was held on Friday 10 January 2020. It concerned PhDs who had defended their thesis in 2018 and 2019.

In June 2022, the second Doctors' Ceremony was held, celebrating the doctors who defended their degrees in 2020 and 2021.
