[Guest researcher] The Centre Norbert Elias (CNE) welcomes Nicolas Navarro
Doctorate in museology, mediation and heritage (École du Louvre - Avignon University - Université du Québec à Montréal, 2015), Nicolas Navarro is a lecturer in museology and head of the museology department at the University of Liège. He is editor of the journal Les Cahiers de muséologie, member of the editorial team of the magazine Culture and museums.
His research focuses on the political and social issues surrounding cultural and heritage institutions, particularly museums. He has been researching heritage policies, and in particular the Villes et Pays d'art et d'histoire label in France, since his doctoral thesis. This perspective is currently being pursued through research into contemporary museum issues (the museum-territory relationship, micromuseology, critical museology).
Nicolas Navarro is a guest at Norbert Elias Centre (CNE) by Lise Renaud. He will be at Avignon Université from 27 January to 14 February 2025 to work with the laboratory's museology researchers on the development of a project on micro-museology, as well as on ways of strengthening collaboration between the two universities and laboratories (exchanges with the "Mediations, Musées, Patrimoines" master's degree, joint doctoral studies, etc.). On 30 January he gave a talk on critical museology for masters and doctoral students.
