On 13 April 2023, Avignon University voted for its first Open Science Charter. But the Second National Plan for Open Sciencewhich set itself the goal of making open science widespread in France, will come to an end at the end of 2024. Where do French research establishments stand in terms of their targets for opening up publications and data? How do research funding agencies influence these practices? How are institutions negotiating with scientific publishers in this period of transition to new publication models? What means are available to small universities to achieve their objectives? The aim of this event is to launch a debate on these issues with the Avignon scientific community.
