The Ma thèse en 180 secondes competition is back! Come and support the 12 Aix-Marseille Provence Méditerranée doctoral students selected for the regional final.

The 12 best talents selected by Aix-Marseille Université, Avignon Université, Université de Toulon and Université de Corse are keen to share their research in the most accessible and entertaining way possible. The formula is simple: doctoral students have to explain their research topic to the general public in the most accessible way possible, in just three minutes, using a single slide. This year, these 12 x 3-minute scientific shows will be punctuated by questions and discoveries in ecology, health, law, translation and much more... Whether on stage at the Théâtre Antoine Vitez or live on the Aix-Marseille Université Youtube channel, they're waiting for you to get up on stage and dazzle you!

The jury will be chaired by Pascal Kuhn, Director of Airbus Helicopters' Marignane site. He will be joined by Eddie Barazzuol, Director of Development and co-founder of the newspaper The MetaNewsCatherine Quilliet, a physicist at the University of Grenoble Alpes, as well as a short story writer and novelist, Leah Vandeveer, a doctorate in linguistics and European project manager at the University of Bordeaux, and Baptiste Kergaravat, a doctoral student at AMU and winner of the 1er regional jury prize for 2023.

At the end of the show, three performances will be awarded prizes by the Jury. The audience in the auditorium will also be able to vote for their favourite performer. The winners of the 1er Jury Prize and Public Prize (or the 1er and 2e Jury Prize, if the 1er Jury Prize and Audience Prize are the same) will qualify for the national semi-final in the spring, with a chance of reaching the national and international finals.
