Research topics

  • Linking transport and town planning.
  • Car dependency.
  • Network analysis and accessibility.
  • Geographic information system.
  • Multi-agent system.
  • Territorial optimisation.
His research focuses on the sustainability of urban areas, and more specifically on the link between transport and urban planning. After describing the metrics of today's transport networks (i.e. the logic of the interactions they generate at different scales) and analysing their externalities, particularly in terms of car dependency, Cyrille Genre-Grandpierre has broadened the scope of his research beyond the issue of mobility by developing simulation models (based on geographic information systems, multi-agent systems and optimisation methods derived from operational research) that enable joint work on the links between urban form (locations), transport policy and sustainability.
