Training and sustainability

Avignon University commits to the introduction of the foundation teaching unit Environmental Transition for Sustainable Development (TEDS), as requested by the Ministry. This foundation combines knowledge on a range of topics and skills, which are :

  • climate change, including mitigation and adaptation,
  • biodiversity and its preservation,
  • resources and their availability (including energy),
  • just transition and social equity.

By 2025, half of all L2 students will benefit from this UE, rising to 100% by 2026.

A commitment at the heart of our training

Many courses at Avignon University already include the theme of environmental transition in their curricula, such as :

  • the LP Agro-ecological transition of territories,
  • the LP Water professions,
  • M2 Data governance with the skill "The environmental impact of digital technology",
  • L3 Political science with the "Public economics of the environment" remit,
  • M2 Culture and communication,
  • the GOAL Packaging with eco-design of packaging.

You can find all our environment-related training courses on our training catalogue.

What's more, every student can get involved in projects or benefit from presentations by professionals, conferences, seminars and cultural activities on this theme.

Teaching and outreach units (UEO) to get involved

At the same time, WEU Taking action on our campuses and Imagining sustainable agriculture: putting it into practice in the vegetable garden offer concrete opportunities to get involved and contribute to a sustainable campus.

From university degrees to doctorates, Avignon University is training current and future generations for the changes needed today and tomorrow.
