Biography
Biography : Philippe Gabriel is a psychopedagogue, lecturer in educational science at the University of Avignon and the Pays de Vaucluse (UAPV, France) and researcher at the Interdisciplinary Research Laboratory in Didactics, Education and Training (LIRDEF) at the Universities of Montpellier (University of Montpellier, UM, and University Paul Valéry, UPV). He contributes to the work of the laboratory's 'Work, Training, Development' (TFD) team. After studying psychology, he worked as an adult trainer in the field of economic and social integration, before discovering the educational sciences and obtaining a doctorate from the University of Burgundy (Dijon) in the speciality of 'evaluation in educational systems'. Following his qualification, he was recruited as a teacher-researcher at the Université de Picardie Jules Verne (1996-2000), before joining the UAPV, where he took on administrative, budgetary and teaching responsibilities (2001-2009), while continuing to teach students interested in careers in education and training. In the course of his academic career, Philippe has led various research projects and taken part in numerous international collaborations and expert assessments (UNESCO, French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Commission, Centre International d'Etudes Pédagogiques, Erasmus+ Agency, etc.) alongside local partnerships to support the professional development of educational teams. Its research activities and technological contributions focus on understanding learning, education and training contexts and situations. Evaluation is used to enhance understanding of the effects of phenomena brought about by changes in society and the organisational and pedagogical choices made in the field in question. In 2012, he was elected to the Conseil National des Universités, section 70, and was also elected convenor for the 'ICT in Education and Training' network of the European Educational Research Association (EERA).
