On 12 February 2026, Natacha Collomb, anthropologist and researcher at the CNRS, will present a Midiscience on the theme :
«Making science of the living: what similarities and what differences between anthropology and developmental biology?»
On the basis of an investigation in a laboratory studying the mechanical dimensions of the pre-implantation development of embryos (essentially on the mouse model), the anthropologist is led to question what constitutes science on both sides of these two disciplines which, beyond their differences, share the same interest in living organisms. Methods and epistemologies are at the heart of these questions.
Natacha Collomb is an anthropologist and researcher at the CNRS. Her various investigations (early childhood in Laos, perinatal psychiatry, developmental biology) explore the vast questions of origins, beginnings and processes through a reflective and sensitive approach.
