On 6 March, Louise Couëffé, ATER in contemporary history (CNE), will present a Midiscience on the theme :
The success of herborisation in the XIXᵉ century led individuals of different ages and social backgrounds to take an interest in plants and botany on excursions designed to collect plants. Through accounts of herborisations, correspondence and herbariums, this paper looks at the changing relationship between landscape perceptions and botanists' herborisation grounds in the nineteenth century.
After completing a doctorate in history at the University of Angers, on a thesis entitled "Plants, fields and botanical cultures: herborising in western France in the XIXᵉsiècle", Louise Couëffé has been a temporary teaching and research associate in contemporary history at Avignon University, at the Centre Norbert Elias (CNE), since 2023.
