13 February 2025, Frédéric Jeorgea lecturer at ICTT laboratory will present a Midiscience on the theme :
When we talk about a living language, we can't really mean it that way. Languages are born, evolve and die, they eat each other, reproduce, hide from predators, adapt to their environment... the comparison with animal species is tempting and sometimes relevant, but there are also real limitations. Where do we stand?
Frédéric Jeorge is a teacher of linguistics and computer science, but he also has a passion for the natural sciences, and likes to cross-discipline to highlight their respective strengths.
We are offering a series of short lectures on a wide variety of subjects (30 min presentation and 30 min discussion) aimed at the university community, the general public in Avignon and social and economic partners. The aim is to convey the essentials of a research topic and then, during a discussion, to share questions and thoughts on emerging knowledge.
