To mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Jean-Henri Fabre, the great entomologist and botanist of the 19th and 20th centuries, the students in the Master 1 Culture and Communication programme are inviting you to share their passion for nature.
- The event will begin with a round table with our guest Joseph Jacquin-Porretazdirector of the Requien Museum, to discover and understand the link between Jean-Henri Fabre's philosophy and Japanese culture.
- Screening of a Japanese animated film (Surprise...!) will follow to illustrate this moment of exchange. Jean-Henri Fabre is particularly well known in Japan for his relationship with nature, and a number of animated films draw inspiration from his research and work.
Our primary objective is to highlight this great naturalist by modernising his image through Japanese culture. Jean-Henri Fabre's impact on the advancement of research into nature is not widely known, and we hope that this event will help you to discover his world.
