Participatory Student Budget

Campus News 10 December 2024

Become a player on your campus and submit your project to the student community.

The Student Participatory Budget is a scheme that invites students to take part in developing their campus and improving their everyday lives on campus.

It provides funding for general interest projects proposed by students and submitted to them for approval by a vote.

For 2024-2025, the budget amounts to 15,000 (maximum €5,000 per project) This is funded by the CVEC (Contribution Vie Étudiante et de Campus).

Proposals must address small investment projects (i.e. new equipment and facilities that limit future management costs).
Projects must be feasible on the Hannah Arendt and/or Jean-Henri Fabre campuses, fall within the university's remit and be in line with the CVEC's objectives.

The GHP is not intended to finance association-type events.

Stage #1 You have until Sunday 20 January 2025 to submit your project online.

Rules and operation

Projects of general interest aimed at developing university campuses and/or improving day-to-day life on campus may be submitted to the participatory budget. Projects must be fully financed by the participatory budget.

Projects may not exceed a maximum of €5,000 (inc. VAT) per project, so that at least one project can be carried out per campus.

The projects submitted must take account of the following principles:

  • Projects must be sustainable. One-off projects, in particular actions or events such as festivals, trips, workshops, concerts, drive-ins, etc. run by student associations, can receive funding from the traditional FSDIE;
  • Projects must be neutral, respect the prerogatives of the university and not replace the university's duties. (renovation work, provision of access for people with reduced mobility, education, etc.), or entail excessive operating or maintenance costs;
  • Projects must be technically and legally feasible. To do this, they will have to be sufficiently precise to be estimated by the university's departments, which will have to analyse their feasibility within the university.
  • Only the students enrolled at Avignon University can submit projects.

Projects must be submitted on behalf of one or more students duly enrolled at Avignon Université. Student associations may not submit projects in their own name.

Project sponsors will be able to present their project in greater detail to the steering committee, the Department of Culture and Campus Life and the relevant university departments during the project review phase.

The implementation of the selected projects will be entrusted to the university's departments and to the Department of Culture and Campus Life. The selected project leaders may, if necessary, be involved in setting up the projects.
