Presentation

Access to scientific and technological culture is one of the objectives set by the Common Base of Knowledge and Skills. The practice of the investigative approach, the progressive mastery and mobilisation of knowledge in various scientific fields are necessary from the first years of compulsory education.

"Scientific Partners for the Classroom" is one of the actions conducted at national level with the support of the Academy of Sciences.
Since January 2011, in the framework of ASTEP and now "Partenaires Scientifiques pour la Classe", classes in the Vaucluse department can benefit from scientific and technological support provided by scientists, researchers, doctoral students and students from the University of Avignon. This partnership aims to enable pupils to appropriate scientific knowledge through an investigative approach by building it themselves.

While the aim of science and technology coaching is to stimulate pupils' curiosity, critical thinking and autonomy and to create vocations from an early age, it differs from other forms of intervention in that it involves pupils, teachers and scientists in a process of mutual enrichment and skill sharing.
