Discover: "Débranche! A holiday notebook for connected museum-lovers... and critics
A group of scientists, including Allison Guiraud and Lise Renaud from Avignon University (Centre Norbert Elias), has published Unplug! This is a holiday book like no other, aimed at anyone interested in the use of digital technology in museums and heritage sites.
Contrary to the enthusiastic rhetoric about "cultural democratisation through digital technology", this book offers a lucid - and sometimes ironic - reading of the realities on the ground. Based on several years of surveys, first-hand accounts from professionals in the cultural sector and in situ observations, it sheds light on the many difficulties that are often overlooked: injunctions to go digital, technical constraints, cumbersome contracts, problems of maintenance and system evaluation.

Yannick Estève, Inria Quadrant programme coordinator for the Avignon site
The programme Inria Quadrantsupported as part of the France 2030 programme, finances high-risk research projectssupported by a sole holder (researcher or teacher-researcher), in the field of digital sciences and technologies - from their foundations to their uses. It is aimed at bold, exploratory proposals that may even break with what already exists.

It aims to raise awareness of the ecological transition through artistic creation, and brings together six partner countries: France, Greece, Italy, Spain, Croatia and Malta.
Each partner, including Avignon University and the association Art waste for France, is to host a residency for a foreign artist, who will collaborate with a local artist on a joint creative project.
The residency organised in November 2025 at the Creative Villa will focus on the theme of recycling agricultural wasteThis is a continuation of the thinking begun with the Olive4ALLrecently completed.
Launched in November 2024 for a period of one and a half years, the OTRart project is being led for Avignon University by Julie Deramonda researcher at the Centre Norbert Elias, in collaboration with her colleagues Isabelle Brianso and Pauline Grisonand with Sylvie Couraletcultural consultant.
