Open Science

Open science is about making the results of publicly funded scientific research accessible to all without hindrance, without delay and free of charge.

It builds on the opportunity presented by digital technology to facilitate and develop open access to research publications, methods, codes, software and data, in line with the principle of "as open as possible, as closed as necessary".

By adopting an open science charter, Avignon University is fully in line with the dynamics promoted by the Law for a Digital Republic of 2016, the National Plans for Open Science of 2018 and 2021 and, more broadly, European and international mechanisms such as Plan S of 2019 and the Unesco Recommendation on Open Science of 2021.
