Open Science

Open science means making the results of publicly-funded scientific research accessible to everyone without hindrance, without delay and free of charge.

It takes advantage of the opportunities offered by digital technology to facilitate and develop open access to publications, methods, codes, software and research data, in line with the principle of "as open as possible, as closed as necessary".

By adopting an Open Science Charter, Avignon University is fully in line with the momentum generated by the 2016 Law for a Digital Republic, the 2018 and 2021 National Plans for Open Science and, more broadly, European and international initiatives such as Plan S in 2019 and the 2021 UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science.
