15th May, Joyce Alvareza post-doctoral researcher in metabolomics and ATER (UMR SQPOV SporAlim - INRAE / Avignon University), will present a Midiscience on the theme :
Cultural traditions define our identity and our link with the past. Alcoholic beverages are present in many of them, and bear witness to skills that have been passed down for generations. Mezcal, Mexico's emblematic drink, provides a fascinating example of how science can help us to understand and preserve these practices. A scientific immersion reveals its molecular and cultural richness, while questioning the impact of industrialisation.
We are offering a series of short lectures on a wide variety of subjects (30 min presentation and 30 min discussion) aimed at the university community, the general public in Avignon and social and economic partners. The aim is to convey the essentials of a research topic and then, during a discussion, to share questions and thoughts on emerging knowledge.
