Educational follow-up / Covid19

Dear Students,

Following the announcements made by the President of the Republic and the directives we have received from the State, the establishment is completely closed to the public and will remain so until further notice.

We are fully aware that the current health crisis is leading you to ask a great many questions about the arrangements for educational continuity (future assessments, validation of work placements, equivalence of semesters spent abroad, etc.).

Our teams are working hard to identify the problems you face and to propose solutions. We must, however, take into account the uncertainties surrounding the duration of the crisis. Whatever the case, rest assured that we will do our utmost to find solutions that take account of this exceptional situation.

We distinguish between three levels of intervention:

1. Maintaining distance learning activities

The people in charge of your training courses are responsible for supporting you throughout the period when the school is closed, so that you can maintain this educational activity with all the tools available:

  • use of the school's digital teaching platform (e-uapv.univ-avignon.fr) and the tools it offers;
  • links to the school's online courses or to those produced by other organisations where possible (http://univ-numerique.fr/) ;
  • webographies and all forms of homework provided directly by your teachers.

2. Postponing assessments

At present, all assessments scheduled to take place in person at the school are suspended and postponed until the school reopens. However, some UEs and UCEs may be assessed by distance learning tests, in accordance with the specific features of each course.

3. Adjustment of knowledge assessment procedures

The exceptional nature of this health crisis will most likely lead us to consider changes to the way in which knowledge is tested. These will be decided by the Training and University Life Committee (CFVU) and the Board of Governors, depending on the duration of the crisis.

We will define general rules which will depend on :

  • the number of hours of face-to-face lessons already given;
  • the number of tests already completed;
  • work that can be carried out remotely;
  • how much time we have left after the crisis to complete the school year.

We will also define special rules to take account of the already irreversible consequences of the crisis:

  • interrupted work placements in France and particularly abroad;
  • mobility stays cut short or disrupted by the closure of host establishments abroad and the confinement measures imposed by certain countries;
  • any other special situation (sandwich courses, international students stuck in France, etc.).

Avignon University will draw the necessary conclusions from the exceptional nature of the health crisis. We will make all the necessary adjustments and adaptations to the regulations to minimise the impact on students.

Your teachers, teaching secretaries and course leaders will be on hand to keep in touch with you and answer any questions you may have.
