[Portraits] Four portraits of women to discover on 8 March 2023

To mark International Women's Rights Day on 8 March, we are pleased to present four new portraits of women who are helping to bring Research at the university to life.

Isabelle Auriol is a specialist assistant librarian (BIBAS) at the university library's researcher service. At the start of her professional career, she worked as a restorer of rare and precious works on various materials and media used for writing: papyrus, ostraca, oles (palm leaves), ancient terrestrial and celestial maps, posters, etc. She joined the BU d'Avignon Université in 2016 and is now mainly responsible for services for researchers: the challenge is to make research accessible to as many people as possible, using various tools such as the HAL portal and the Open Science Barometer, among others.

Sylvie Cantet-Seguin is a research development engineer at the Research and Innovation Support Department (DARI). She has a doctorate in Cell Biology, and chose to go on to do a Masters in Innovation and Technology Management (ESC Toulouse). She worked for several years at CNRS Innovation (Paris) and discovered the world of intellectual property and technology transfer.
She will join the DARI's Technology Transfer and Commercialisation Unit in November 2021 and will be responsible for setting up various types of research-related contracts.

Alice Château is a lecturer and researcher in microbiology in the SporAlim team of the SQPOV laboratory (Safety and Quality of Plant Products). Curious about observing nature since childhood, she naturally turned to microbiology.
His current research focuses on the surface of bacteria Bacillus cereus which is responsible for food poisoning and spoilage in the agri-food industry. His work aims to identify the targets of endolysins on the surface of this bacterium. It will provide new knowledge to develop tools for detecting, preventing and eliminating B. cereusThe aim of this project is to develop a new approach to food safety, particularly in biofilms.

Alice Mornet is a lecturer in private law and criminal sciences at the Biens Normes Contrats laboratory.
His research focuses on criminal law and procedure and the impact of the development of digital law and European Union law on these areas.
Her desire to work in university research was born in a lecture theatre as she attended lectures given by her future thesis supervisor.

"Teaching was my first motivation and, even today, I can't conceive of research without teaching, and vice versa.
