[Popularisation of science] call for entries "Telling and meeting science" competition, by the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF)
The AUF Western Europe is launching the third edition of its "Conter et rencontrer les sciences" (Telling and meeting science) competition to reward the best French-language popular science content produced by young researchers.
The research carried out by young researchers within its network is characterised by its great dynamism. The aim of this call for proposals is to highlight the many initiatives that question and help bring together science, culture and society. These initiatives bear witness to the great dynamism of young researchers who produce innovative and accessible scientific communication. Through this competition, the AUF aims to encourage other means of communicating knowledge to the general public.
Who can enter the competition?
This competition is open to any doctoral student or young researcher who has submitted and/or defended his/her thesis within the last 5 years in a higher education and research institution that is a member of the AUF - Western Europe (202 institutions in 12 countries: see the AUF website). full list of members).
How do I enter the competition?
A single piece of popular science content, less than 24 months oldcan be submitted. The format of the production must correspond to one of the 4 categories defined below:
- Written production: blog articles, newspaper, book, poem, etc.
- Graphic production: comic strips, posters, computer graphics, awareness-raising games (boards, cards, etc.)
- Audio production: podcasts, songs, etc.
- Video production: educational video, animated video, film, video game, etc.
Particular attention will also be paid to applications relating to :
- One of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals adopted in 2015 by the United Nations.
- One of the themes mentioned below:
- Ecological transition, climate and energy, mobility, resources and the environment
- Technology, digital, space, security, robotics, artificial intelligence
- Art(s) and culture(s), inclusive society(ies), social sciences and humanities
- Societal well-being and life sciences

Pricing and valuation
For each of the four categories mentioned above, the winner will be awarded a single prize of €1,000. The winner will also benefit from promotion of the winning content on the AUF Western Europe website and social networks.
In addition, theACFASa long-standing supporter of the AUF, will offer four prize-winners selected by the jury:
- a printed copy of the a practical guide to popularising science - 2020 edition Acfas
- a place at an Acfas workshop to further develop your scientific communication skills
