Objectives:
The UEO takes place over three consecutive semesters. Introduction to the linguistic bases of Italian, learning the basics of oral exchanges (talking about oneself, one's environment), continuous oral expression, reading of simple documents related to daily life, introduction to written production.
Work on the five language skills defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): oral production, written production, oral comprehension, written comprehension and interaction.

The target level is the A1 level of the CEFR.

Possible prerequisites : The UEO is aimed at students who have completed the Italian Introductory Level 1 or who have some knowledge of Italian.

Objectives and content :
The Italian UEO level B1-B2 allows students to deepen and develop their knowledge of the Italian language and culture through audio, video, journalistic or literary material. It gives a vision of present-day Italy with an emphasis on oral and written language.
Improvement of the five language skills defined by the CEFR: oral and written production, oral and written comprehension and interaction.

The target level is B1 of the CEFR. The B1 level or threshold level corresponds to the beginning of autonomy (level acquired at the end of the second year or during the first year):
- understand texts written in everyday language,
- to cope with most everyday situations,
- recount experiences and events in a simple way,
- to express their opinion.
