24 April, Pierre JourlinLecturer in Computer Science at Avignon University (UPR LIA), will present a Midiscience on the theme:
Why is generative AI said to be energy-intensive / have a high carbon impact? What progress has been made in recent years to reduce its consumption? Can these models generate quality results with less data and computing power? Will these new approaches enable us to regain a little autonomy and move away from the all-GAFAM approach?
We are offering a series of short lectures on a wide variety of subjects (30 min presentation and 30 min discussion) aimed at the university community, the general public in Avignon and social and economic partners. The aim is to convey the essentials of a research topic and then, during a discussion, to share questions and thoughts on emerging knowledge.
