Goals

The main goal is to train students for the job of mathematics teacher in high schools and colleges, in accordance with the professional skills of teachers (decree of 19/12/2006) and also to prepare them to take the CAPES in mathematics.

Some of the courses in this specialization allow students to become familiar with training systems within and outside of the French national education system, which allows them to move on to adult education, for example. Students with the required level can consider joining the second year of training adapted to the preparation of the agrégation competitive examination at the University of Marseille within the joint master's course.

Of course, students from this master's degree have access to the various administrative competitions of the civil service and local authorities; the content of the courses concerning the rights and duties of civil servants enables them to prepare themselves better. Finally, students, after having been made aware of the various modules offered in common, can also go on to do a thesis in mathematics didactics.
