Licence's degree in Science, Technology and Health, major: Mathematics
Type of course: Mathematics and Interactions
Licence's degree in mathematics with progressive specialization
Goals
The Mathematics degree allows students to acquire a solid foundation in mathematics as well as knowledge in computer science, physics and teaching through a choice of options.
Specificities
The three years of training are structured to allow students to gradually build their project. The new accreditation coming into force at the start of the 2018-2019 academic year is structured as follows.
In the first year, students choose between two portals: Mathematics - Computer Science or Mathematics - Physics. Each of these portals focuses mainly on two disciplines. They are constituted in such a way as to allow an orientation at the end of the first semester, or even at the end of the first year, towards either of the two disciplines.
In the second year, the proportion of mathematics in the curriculum increases, but computer science and physics are also offered.
In the third year, students have the choice between two educational paths. The General Mathematics and Applications pathway is geared towards pursuing a Master's degree in mathematics and applications or an engineering school. The Mathematics - Secondary Education course is designed for students preparing for the CAPES in mathematics.
Each semester, students take English classes and an opening unit. In addition, they receive training to obtain the skills of the C2i (computer and internet certification). Practical work, a project and a compulsory internship encourage the participation and autonomy of students.
International
Students have the possibility of going abroad and acquiring credits that will be validated in their original course. They have a list of foreign universities with which Erasmus or bilateral exchange and cooperation agreements have been established.
