Annual Call for Research Projects

The Research Commission of the Academic Council of Avignon University has decided, within the framework of the 2018-2022 establishment contract, to launch a call for recurrent research projects supporting scientific activity.

This call for projects is intended to support preliminary research likely to contribute to the emergence of structuring projects, scientifically ambitious and with strong potential for international influence. It also aims to strengthen interdisciplinary collaborations within the institution and/or international collaborations.

These projects should help research teams to prepare responses to major national, European or international calls for projects.

Each project must fall into one of the following categories, which may or may not correspond to the priority themes of the institution:

  • Agro&Sciences
  • Culture, Heritage, Digital Societies (CPSN)
  • All themes - outside the institution's priority areas
For the Agro&Sciences and CPSN categories, obtaining Tersys or Agorantic funding for the same project is not an obstacle to obtaining funding from the Research Commission as long as the latter does not cover the same activities.

The deadline for submission of projects is 1 February 2021.

Call for Scientific Conferences and Events

In order to contribute to the scientific and technological influence of the research structures that it recognizes, the institution provides support for the organization of scientific conferences and events.

There are two submission deadlines in 2021: 01/02/2021 for events taking place between February and June, and 11/06/2021 for events scheduled between July and December 2021.

Program to support scientific writing in foreign languages

This program is intended for researchers who plan to submit an article or a response to a call for proposals in a foreign language and who need linguistic support for the writing of their submission document. This support will be provided by a specialist in the target language who will correct the document with one of its authors.

The program should significantly increase the chances of success of the project, or acceptance of the article. In addition, this accompaniment should lead the researchers to improve their mastery of the target language.

Applications will be processed by the Research Commission of the Academic Council during its monthly meetings.

Research Investment Program

Research mobilizes infrastructures and instruments which may require heavy investments, and which must meet the strategic objectives of Avignon University (AU). These investments can be multiannual and should be included in the multiannual research investment program of the institution. This call for projects invites the research units under the supervision of AU to formulate their investment needs and to contextualize them with regard to:
  • The scientific project of the unit,
  • The scientific project of the institution,
  • The unit's capacity to host these instruments (technical and human environment)
  • The means to be mobilized to ensure a good return on investment
  • The potential for mutualisation with other research units in the institution if relevant

Applications will be processed by the Research Commission of the Academic Council during its monthly meetings.

Research Operations

Medium and long-term research programs developed in research laboratories can be implemented through a series of collaborative projects of varying nature and duration. The diversity of these projects, of their financing modalities, of their timetables, limits the capacity of the scientific leaders to structure and plan all the research activities linked to the program.

Avignon University wishes to offer the institution's teacher-researchers a framework that allows them to group together a set of projects in a multi-year research operation, built around a coherent scientific program that can be fed by several contracted collaborations.

Applications will be processed by the Research Commission of the Academic Council during its monthly meetings.

Support program for the dissemination of scientific culture

The dissemination of scientific culture is one of the essential missions and one of the priority projects of Avignon University. This program aims to support researchers, teacher-researchers and technical staff of the institution who wish to contribute to the dissemination of scientific culture. The program should allow the financing of projects carried out by the institution or participation in actions in which the institution is a partner.

Applications will be processed by the Research Commission of the Academic Council during its monthly meetings.

Short-term visitors program

The Short Term Visitor Program aims to support the hosting of research professors or PhD researchers from France or abroad for short periods of time, i.e. approximately one week.

Applications will be processed by the Research Commission of the Academic Council during its monthly meetings.

Incoming mobility - visiting scholars

The Incoming Mobility-Guest Researcher program aims to support the hosting of foreign professors or researchers in the laboratories of Avignon University for a period of 15 days to 2 months, in order to boost the international research policy of the institution.

Applications will be processed by the Research Commission of the Academic Council during its monthly meetings.

Outgoing researcher mobility

The Outgoing Mobility of Researchers program aims to support the international mobility of professors or researchers from Avignon University laboratories to foreign institutions, in order to boost the institution's international research policy.

Applications will be processed by the Research Commission of the Academic Council during its monthly meetings.

Invitation in Residence Program

Avignon University supports invitations to foreign researchers and teacher-researchers of international renown, for a period of eight to twelve months. This program aims to develop sustainable and productive international collaborations in the priority areas of the institution's scientific project.

Applications will be processed by the Research Commission of the Academic Council during its monthly meetings.

Perdiguier Program - Outgoing doctoral mobility
