Service Units: LSBB and OpenEdition Center

A Unité mixte de service (UMS) is an administrative entity created by the signature of a contract of association between a higher education institution (usually a university) and a research organisation (usually the CNRS).
A Service and Research Unit (SRU) can accommodate both administrative and technical staff of organisations and research staff.

Avignon University has two service units:

- The Low Noise Underground Laboratory of Rustrel (LSBBUMS 3538), under the joint supervision of Avignon University and the CNRS

- The OpenEdition Centre, (USR 2004) is attached to the CNRS, the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), Aix-Marseille University (AMU) and Avignon University.
