Activities

La SFR Agorantic est une Structure Fédérative de Recherche interdisciplinaire dont la tutelle principale est Avignon Université. Cette fédération rassemble 8 research laboratories (unités membres) et un nombre toujours plus grand d’unités associées sur projet. Elle a pour objectif principal d’étudier les enjeux sociétaux en lien avec le développement du numérique. 

Agorantic aims to mobilise and federate teams of researchers from different disciplinary backgrounds on projects and scientific themes associating, on the one hand, Human and Social Sciences (SHS), and on the other hand, computer science and mathematics. The aim is for all the partners involved to pool their expertise in order to promote the emergence of a centre of excellence in digital humanities. 

Les objectifs scientifiques de l’Agorantic sont intimement liés aux enjeux induits par les innovations du numérique (Web, réseaux sociaux, big-data) et de l’informatique (algorithmes, moteurs de recommandation, traitement du langage, codes, supports techniques) dans les mondes de la culture, de la gestion des territoires et de la gouvernance politique. Ce sont ces innovations technologiques, culturelles et sociétales ainsi que leurs interactions avec les usages technologiques et symboliques du participatif ou de collaboratif qui façonnent le concept central de la SFR Agorantic “Culture, Patrimoines, Sociétés numériques”. Cette volonté d’ouverture sur la diversité des formes et des enjeux motive l’inscription de tous nos projets dans une visée pluridisciplinaire unique en son genre consistant à mettre en synergie – autant que possible – les concepts, les cadres théoriques et les méthodologies des différents domaines disciplinaires convoqués.
