What is an Open Teaching Unit?
A UEO allows you to acquire 2 credits per semester, i.e. 12 credits for the licence.
The Open Teaching Units contribute to the personalisation of your academic career and the development of a common culture.
These qualifying courses, which are fully integrated into the disciplinary curricula of the different courses, allow the discovery of multiple fields thanks to their diversity. Through their specific treatment, the UEO allow the development of transversal skills, thus contributing to university success and favouring professional integration.
They are organised around major themes such as individual or group project management, creation, employment, individual development, innovation or are related to the disciplines taught in the UFR. They are offered by different services of the University but also by the components.
Each semester, students in the Bachelor's degree must choose a UEO which represents 2 credits, i.e. 12 credits in total for the degree.
Whether you follow a sports or cultural course, a course on community involvement or on any other theme, the validation of the UEO and the attribution of the 2 credits is conditioned by an active and regular participation in the courses but especially by the acquisition of identified competences, specific to the chosen field. This acquisition is evaluated in a formalized manner, the evaluation methods being specified by the teachers at the beginning of each semester and available on your ENT.
Remedial and supportive UEOs have also been put in place since the start of the 2018 academic year, to help students succeed in their course.
How to register?
Registration is done online from the Environnement Numérique de Travail (ENT).
ENT.UNIV-AVIGNON.FR
First, you must proceed to a pre-registration on your ENT (students, even those who are not permanently enrolled, have a number given by the schooling service to be able to pre-register).
Do not forget to choose your UEO before sending your file to your pedagogical secretariat, otherwise the credits cannot be taken into account.
HOW TO VALIDATE YOUR UEO ?
The validation of the UEO and the attribution of the 2 credits suppose the acquisition of identifiable skills, specific to the activity. This acquisition is based on active and regular participation in the courses. The skills are validated during the evaluations organized each semester.
The evaluation methods are specified by each teacher at the beginning of the semester and can be consulted on your ENT.
A maximum of two UEO per semester (UEO sport or culture or teaching) and three from semester 5 onwards, is allowed for validation.
