Sanitary towels dispensers
In order to fight against the menstrual precariousness of students, Avignon University and the CROUS Aix-Marseille-Avignon, thanks to the Ville Campus Program, are setting up free dispensers of sanitary towels on both campuses.
At the origin of the project, a student of the university, Hinde Bahlagui, former volunteer in civic service for Ville Campus and then in training at the CROUS.
Motivated by this initiative, a group of students from Avignon IUT in DUT Packaging, Wrapping and Packing: Marion Bonnin, Sara Lerond, Elaurie Tourel, supervised by Yannick Knapp, lecturer and head of the Packaging department at the IUT of Avignon University, allowed its realization.
For this first step of the project, 10 dispensers were designed and manufactured by the students, then placed in some toilets accessible to people with limited mobility on the 2 campuses:
These dispensers are stocked daily and allow everyone to have free access to these essential hygiene products.
The towels offered are dye-free, perfume-free and allergen-free, and have the Ecolabel label.
At the same time, information stands are regularly set up to help people discover the various means of protection, particularly the lesser known ones.
