L’Université d’Avignon accueille chaque année plusieurs centaines d’étudiants étrangers, venus du monde entier. Plusieurs dispositifs ont été mis en place pour faciliter leur installation et leur intégration.
Un guichet d’accueil est organisé par la Maison de l’International en début d’année universitaire. Les étudiants étrangers y trouvent de l’aide pour leurs démarches administratives (dépôt des demandes de titre de séjour, allocation et recherche de logement, demande d’autorisation de travail etc.) ainsi que des informations pratiques. Le guichet est ouvert de début septembre à mi-octobre.
Le site de l’OFII (Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration) vous renseigne sur votre accueil en France. C’est une source d’information générale pour tous les étrangers voulant venir en France.
Programme d’accueil gratuit : le SRI propose en début de semestre avant le début des cours, un programme d’accueil ouvert à tous les étudiants et chercheurs étrangers nouvellement arrivés. Les étudiants en échange pourront s’inscrire lors de leur candidature à un séjour d’études. Les étudiants hors échange, les doctorants et les chercheurs, devront s’inscrire à l’aide d’un formulaire d’inscription en ligne. La participation est gratuite. De nombreuses activités et séances d’information seront organisées (cours de français, découverte du campus, présentation de la bibliothèque, organisation des études, soirées culturelles, buffet d’accueil).
Des cours gratuits de soutien linguistique en Français Langue Etrangère sont proposés par notre Service des Langues (SDL) pour les étudiants en échange et hors échange, ainsi que pour les doctorants en séjour recherche. Les cours de méthodologie universitaire française sont assurés par les composantes pour tout étudiant de Licence.

Si vous ne bénéficiez pas d’un logement en résidence universitaire CROUS, notre fichier de résidences étudiantes privées pourra vous être utile.

Practical information
Avignon University hosts several hundreds of foreign students every year, from all over the world. Various schemes have been implemented in order to ease their installation and integration.
A single service point organized by the International House. International students can find assistance with administrative procedures (helping with accommodation-seeking and support, residence permits applications, work permit, etc.) and other practical information. The single service point is open from early September until mid-October. Later on during the academic year, international students can address the international office .
The OFII website (French Office of Immigration and Integration) gives information about your arrival in France. It is a general source of information for all foreigners wishing to come to France.
Free welcome programme: A welcome program for freshly arrived foreign students and researchers is proposed by the international office twice a year, in September and January or early February before classes start. Exchange students will be able to register for the welcome programme on applying for the exchange. Free movers, PhD students and researchers will have to register online. Participation is free of charge. Several activities and information meetings will be organized (French classes, visit of the campus, presentation of the University library, academic organization, cultural evenings, welcome lunch or coffee break).
Free language support courses in French as a Foreign Language are proposed by ou Languages service for exchange students, free movers, and for international PhD students. French academic methodology courses are included in the curriculum at Degree level.

International Buddy system programme
If you would like to get in touch with students in Avignon before your arrival, you can participate in the sponsorship programme, just send an email to parrainage-international@univ-avignon.fr . We will do our best to find you a French student registered in the same field of study if possible. The « sponsor » will be able to answer your questions before your arrival in Avignon in order to establish a first link and to introduce you to the university and the city of Avignon. R.I.S.E. Association
The student association « R.I.S.E. », created by students of the University of Avignon interested in other cultures, aims to promote the integration of foreign students and to facilitate contacts between foreign and French students.
